We offer our congratulations to Mr Joseph Andrews, who is here seen with his son Mr Walter Andrews, of Park-road, Rushden, his grandson, Private Herbert Andrews, Motor Transport, A.S.C., and his great-grandson, Master Bertie Andrews. The four generations are well-known in Rushden.
A native of Olney, Mr J Andrews, with his four sons, started a band, the first to be formed in the town, and this band has remained in existence, with additions to the membership, ever since. The sons were also members of the Church choir for a number of years. At the death of his wife, about three years ago, Mr Joseph Andrews came to Rushden to live with his son, Mr Walter Andrews. He has four sons and two daughters, all of whom are living in one part of the world or another. There are 27 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, most of them in Rushden. Private Andrews, who was formerly in the grocery trade in Rushden, went to London where he was married. He learned the art of motor driving, and is now attached to the A.S.C. as a Motor Transport Driver, stationed at Bulford Camp, Salisbury.
