At the Full Gospel Church, Rushden, on March 2nd, a wedding took place between Miss Pauline Dorothy Scroxton and S.B.A. Roy Arthur Harold Allen, Royal Navy. The church was decorated with daffodils and violets, and Pastor L Crew officiated. The bride is the third daughter of Mr and Mrs W R Scroxton, of 38 Purvis-road, Rushden, and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs A Allen, of "Manoah," Upper Park-avenue.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a dress of white satin with veil and headdress of orange blossom and white shoes. Her bouquet was of mauve tulips, heather and trailing fern. Miss Marion Scroxton (sister of the bride) was the attendant, and wore a pink net dress with headdress to match and white shoes. She carried daffodils, heather and fern.
Mr Norman George (friend of the bridegroom) was the best man, and Mrs Oswald Tompkins, at the organ, accompanied the hymns "O Perfect Love" and "Father all creating."
The reception followed in the B.W.T.A. Hall, the wedding cake being the gift if a friend. Among the presents were cheques from the Full Gospel Church and Sunday School, where the bride is a teacher and the bridegroom was formerly teacher and secretary, and Mr A. C. A. Colton (the bride's employer).
