At St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Saturday, Miss Laura Jane Watts, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Watts, of Cromwell-road, Rushden, was married to Mr. Ernest William Adams, of Olney. The service was conducted by the Rector, Rev. P. E. Robson, M.A. The bride, who was given away by her father, was neatly attired in a silver grey costume with a white satin straw hat trimmed with a lancer plume and a spray of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white lilies and chrysanthemums, the gift of the bridegroom, and was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Gladys Watts (sister of the bride) and Florence Smith (friend). They wore costumes of dark navy blue with white felt hats. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Fred Church, of Olney, a friend of the bridegroom. A reception was subsequently held at the bride’s home. The presents were numerous and handsome. |
