The marriage took place on Monday, at St. Mary’s Church, Swineshead, Boston, of Mr. Frank Abbott, youngest son of Mr. Joseph Abbott, of Queen-street, Rushden, to Miss Fanny Damson, only daughter of Mr. Harry Damson, of Swineshead. The Vicar of Swineshead (Rev. R. E. Barlow-Poole) officiated, and the service was choral throughout.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was prettily attired in brocaded white satin, trimmed with pillow lace (the gift of the bridegroom’s mother) and orange blossom; the train of the dress was trimmed with pearls and orange blossom; and she wore a veil and wreath of orange blossom. She carried a choice bouquet of white flowers, consisting of Madonna lilies, white sweet peas, and white carnations, with ferns.
The bride was accompanied by Miss Margaret Bonner (her cousin). Miss Frances Betson (niece of the bridegroom), who was to have been the other bridesmaid, was unable to be present through illness. Miss Bonner was daintily arrayed in saxe blue eolienne with pleated ninon collar, black picture hat, trimmed with pink roses and black lace. Her bouquet was of white and pink carnations, with broad silk streamers.
Mr. Leonard Chettle, of Nuneaton, carried out the duties of best man. Mr. T. Hinkins played the Wedding March as the bridal party left the church. The bride has been associated with day and Sunday school work.
A reception followed the ceremony, and Mr. and Mrs. Abbott subsequently left for the Lake District, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a Tate corded grey costume and Leghorn hat trimmed with roses and pale blue silk.
