| A motor wedding took place at Higham Ferrers on Wednesday at the Parish Church, the contracting parties being Miss Elsie Peacock, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Peacock, of Grove-street, Higham Ferrers, and Private James Herbert John Paragreen, of the Royal Naval Sick Berth Reserve, home on leave, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Paragreen, of Duck-street, Rushden. The Vicar (Rec. H. K. Fry) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a neat grey costume, with a hat to match, trimmed with a white lancer plume. Miss Cicely Paragreen, a sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Nellie Jones, friend of the bride, the bridesmaids, were suitably costumed in navy blue with hats to match. They each wore an expanding waistbelt of Belgian manufacture, with sterling silver anchor set in rolled gold for the clasp, the gift of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. W. Peacock, brother of the bride. The organist, Mr. A. E. Wright, rendered in finished style the Wedding March. A reception was afterwards held at the bride’s home. The bride is a well-known member of St. Mary’s Church, Higham, and the bridegroom was a valued member of the Rushden Corps of the St. John Ambulance. The presents were numerous and handsome. |

Presentation
Mr Herbert Paragreen son of Mr and Mrs J Paragreen, of Rushden, a member of the Royal Naval Sick Berth Reserve who is now on service at the Haslar Hospital at Gosport, has been presented by his former fellow employees at the factory of Messrs Robinson Bros., with a handsome dinner service on the occasion of his marriage.
