| A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the St. Peter’s Church, Rushden, on Monday, by the Vicar, Rev. P. J. Richards, when Mr. John Herbert Oxley, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oxley, of 22, Station-road, Letchworth, Herts, was married to Miss Nellie May Baker, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Baker, of 12, Pemberton-street. The bride was given away by her mother. She was neatly attired in a dress of cream satin and a black hat with lancer plume. She was attended by four bridesmaids, the Misses Gladys and Dorothy Oxley, sisters of the bridegroom, who were dressed in cream satin and wore hats with wreaths of cherries, and the Misses F. Scott and H. Denton, cousins of the bride, who wore dresses of saxe blue, with hats to match. The duties of best man were efficiently discharged by Mr. A. E. Hartwell, of Peterborough. A reception at the bride’s home followed the ceremony. A large number of handsome and useful presents were received. |
