| At St. Mary's Church, Rushden, on Saturday, the wedding took place of Miss Doris Swingler, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Swingler, of 151, Queen-street, Rushden, and Mr. Bernard Holloway, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Holloway, of Irchester. The bride was given away by her father and was tastefully attired in a dress of ivory georgette and silk lace, and had orange blossom and veil, while her bouquet was of red roses. The four bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Irene Swingler (sister of the bride), who was the chief bridesmaid, Miss Dora Holloway (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Jean Smith (niece of the bridegroom), and Miss Marie Houghton (niece of the bride). The two elder attendants wore dresses of pink suede georgette with silver headdress, Miss Jean Smith and Miss Marie Houghton were attired in pale blue silk. Miss Swingler and Miss Holloway had bouquets of cream roses, and the two children carried baskets of sweet peas and carnations. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Albert Partridge, of Wollaston, friend of the bridegroom. Following the service, a reception was held at the bride's home, after which Mr. and Mrs. Holloway departed on their honeymoon, which is being spent at Eastbourne. |
