| A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Park Road Wesleyan chapel on Monday morning. The contracting parties were – Mr. Joseph Dawes of Leicester, and Miss Clara Jacob, of Crabb Street, Rushden. The Rev. A. L. Fillingham officiated. The bride, who has been a member of the Park Road choir and a Sunday school teacher, was given away by her father. She wore a dress of silver grey alpaca, trimmed with passementerie and chiffon, and orange blossom. The bridesmaids were:- Miss S. Loveday and Miss l. Loveday, who were dressed in cream cashmere with hats to match, and Miss A. Loveday and Miss Dawes, who wore dresses of grey cashmere, with hats to match. Mr. W. Jacob acted as best man. The choir attended and sang “The voice that breathed o’er Eden.” Mr Wooding officiated at the organ. Among numerous presents, a copper kettle and a pair of silver-plated nut-crackers were received from the members of the I.O.G.T. and a handsome Rochester lamp from the bridegroom’s fellow workmen. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the home of the bride’s parents. |
