Rushden Echo, 1st January 1915, transcribed by Gill Hollis

Corby – Church

At St. Mary’s Church, Higham Ferrers, on Boxing Day, a quiet wedding was solemnised, the contracting parties being Miss Florence Annie Church, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Church, of Higham Ferrers, and Mr. Joseph Judah Corby, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Corby, of Rushden. The Vicar (Rev. H. K. Fry) officiated. The bride, who wore a becoming costume of navy blue with a black velvet hat, was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Nellie and Brinhalda Burgess, nieces of the bridegroom. They wore pretty dresses of cream poplin. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Ernest Church. Mr. Reg Tew acted as best man. There was subsequently a reception at 21, Co-operative-row. The presents were numerous and useful.
