| A quiet but happy wedding was celebrated on Boxing Day at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden. The contracting parties were Miss Clara Mabel Glidle, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Glidle, of Little-street, Rushden, and Private Walter Reginald Cockings, of the Steelbacks, stationed at Peterborough and son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Cockings, of Dell-place, Rushden. The bride, given away by Mr. S. Brawn, a friend, wore a very suitable navy blue costume with a black satin hat trimmed with pale blue. She was attended by a bridesmaid, Miss Annie Beatrice Livingstone, a friend, who was similarly costumed. Mr. Brawn acted as best man. After the ceremony the happy little party assembled at the bride’s home where a reception was held. The presents were both useful and handsome. |
