Another holiday bride was Miss Matilda Edith May Smith, of 156, Washbrook-road, Rushden, daughter of Mrs. R. Smith, of Riseley, Beds., who was married to Mr. Reginald Bridgeford, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bridgeford, of 92, Washbrook-road, Rushden, at St. Peter's Church, Rushden, on Saturday. The Rev. P. Barwell Spriggs (Vicar), performed the ceremony, and Mr. Harold Turner (friend) gave the bride away. Mr. Dennis Dickens was the best man. The bride was attired in a dress of white georgette and silk net, a Brussels net veil, and orange blossom coronet, and carried a bouquet of white carnations. She was attended by Miss Constance Eva Bridgeford (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Daisy Ruth Smith (sister of the bride), and Miss Eileen Smith (niece of the bridegroom). Miss Bridgeford wore an apple-green celanese dress with fawn hat, and Miss Smith a pink celanese jap dress with pink hat. Both carried bouquets of sweet peas and double narcissi. Miss E. Smith had a green silk dress with mob cap, and carried a bouquet of forget-me-nots and double narcissi. The reception was held at Smith's tea rooms. The happy couple left for London on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a navy blue and grey striped costume and black and white hat. Among the many presents were a small oak table and silver oxidised mirror from the bride's friends at Messrs. W. W. Chamberlain's, Sartoris-road, Rushden. A cheque was received from the bridegroom's companions at Messrs. Knight and Lawrence's, Rushden.
