Rushden Echo, 8th November 1918

Bell – Heldsown

The marriage of Mr. John Ralph Bell, a discharged soldier, only surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bell, or Armley, Leeds, to Miss Elsie May Helsdown, of 113, Cromwell-road, Rushden, took place at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Monday.  The Rector (Rev. P. E. Robson) officiated.  Mr. Walter Atkinson, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Armley, acted as best man, and the bride was given away by her father.  The bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Helsdown (sister of the bride) and Elsie May Harris (friend of the bride).  The bride was handsomely dressed in a grey coat-dress and mauve hat, and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums and white heather, the gift of the bridegroom.  Miss D. Helsdown wore a saxe-blue dress, with hat to match, and Miss E. M. Harris a grey dress and velour hat.  The bride and bridegroom will reside at Leeds.
