Wellingborough News, 12th September 1902, transcribed by Kay Collins

BENEFIT CONCERT—The concert room of the Windmill Club was well filled on Sunday morning, when a concert was given for the benefit of several members who are out of work. Mr. J. Garley presided, and songs were given by Messrs. Randall, Bayes and Clark, a flute solo by Mr. Derbyshire, and a piccolo solo by Mr. Pratt, Miss Scudamore presided at the piano. A sum of £1 18s. was raised.

The Windmill Club Committee have written acknowledging with thanks a gift of 5s. from the Moor-road and Montague-street Roll of Honour fund towards the Club’s Soldiers’ Cigarette Fund.

Presentation—The committee and member of the Windmill Club on Saturday presented a handsome wallet to Mr. A. E. Haddon in recognition of the valued services he has rendered to the United Clubs' Blind and Crippled Children Association, of which he is the highly-esteemed president.

Club Bowlers—In the final of the Northants Club Union bowls rink competition, played at Irthlingborough on Saturday, Northampton Semilong defeated Rushden Windmill by five shots. Tea was served after the game, and Mr. W. Fuller, captain of the Windmill, congratulated the winners.
