“Trusteel” Kiddies Party
75 Enjoyed Tea and Games

Children from the 66-house “Trusteel” Estate, Rushden, held a “family” party on Saturday.

The idea of holding one big party for all the children was born in the minds of Mr. G. Alson and Mr. F. Wood, who called a meeting at which Mr. E. Hulatt was appointed secretary, Mr. Wood chairman, and Mrs. A. U. Muxlow treasurer.

For twenty-seven weeks they collected a shilling for every child until there was about £60 in the “kitty.”

And, on Saturday, the £60 paid for paper hats, toys, teas and the hire of a hall. Seventy-five children attended.

During the evening, Keith Lovell, of Wollaston, gave a Punch and Judy show, and Mr. R. Tompkins, at the piano, accompanied games, organised by Mr. F. Hindmarsh.

Surprise item was when Norman Lee, Margaret Hulatt and Dianne Clark presented bouquets to Mrs. Muxlow and two helpers who had no children of their own.
