Walking from Rushden to the Higham Park/Knotting Ridge; ending at the St. Johns Arms, Melchbourne after collecting teams who had guessed wrong and gone to the Chequers, Yelden. First use of fireworks. |

Lanes around Little Catworth and Stowe Longa. Unable to find clues in Stowe Longa and so the Kimbolton Aerodrome section was aborted; ending in farm barn at Wornditch for camp curry. |

Wymington, Podington and forty foot lanes to Sharnbrook summit; ending at the Bedford Arms, Souldrop. One team lost at Gorerong cottages near Podington airfield because of wrong clue and missed the food. |
1982 |
Fortyfoot, Podington and Colworth lanes to Podington airfield. Three out of six teams lost on Santa Pod as unable to find clue; ending at the Bell at Odell with only half numbers. Some aggro because of this. |

Riseley/Keysoe lanes via edge of R.A.E. Thurleigh ending at Windrush at Keysoe. All teams completed.

Olney meadows and Northampton Bedford Railway trackbed (via canoe across river) to Clifton Reynes and ending at The Old Hill, Newton Blossomville. One team moved in circles on Olney meadows but recovered to find clue removed. Route rejoined in Clifton Village and all teams completed. |
