Rover Scouts Go Swimming
County Races at Rushden
Swimming events open to the Rover Scouts of Northamptonshire were held in the Public Baths, Rushden, on Saturday afternoon, and attracted strong entries. An additional attraction was a water-polo display by Rushden and Kettering Swimming Clubs.

The winners of the events were 50 yards free style, Rover Newport, Northampton; 100 yards breast stroke, Rover Randall, Higham Ferrers; 75 yards three styles (free, breast and back stroke), Rover Mason, Higham Ferrers; 25 yards plank race, Rover D. Percival, 2nd. Rushden St Mary's; 50 yards relay, 10th Northampton "A" team; back stroke, Rover Austin, Northampton; Long plunge, Rover T Cox, 1st Rushden (86ft. 5ins.).

At the close Mr J Allen, J.P., chairman of Rushden Urban Council, who was M.C., presented the prizes, which had been given by the County Commissioner for Scouts. Mr E R L White was starter, and assisted Mr T W Elliott in the arrangements.
