Rushden & District Query Motor Club

On 29th June 1946 Sunday Scramble meetings were once again begun, to raise funds for local charities, following a break of almost 7 years. The field used before the war was still under cultivation so a new venue was sought.

The meeting took place on the Castle Hill Field at Yelden and the scrambles continued there until 1950. Objectors from Rushden & Higham Ferrrers complained, and after they put pressure on the Rector to make a complaint to the organisers, the triennial event ceased to be held at Yelden.

Buses Took Query Club to Party
Rushden Query Motor Club hard hit by the basic petrol cut, can still keep cheerful

Buses took members and their children to the ''Rose and Crown" Inn, Denford, for a New Year's party on Sunday. There were about 90 present, and the children all received gifts from the hands of the secretary, Miss Dinah Mepham.

They also got an orange and a sixpence each from the president. Mr. R. W. E. Paragreen. The evening was spent with games and dances, the M.Cs. being Mr. Raymond Allen and Mr. Don Norris. Mr. Paragreen also paid the cost of the buses.
