After partaking of some refreshments, the Friends
listen to Peter Field (chairman), and then Clive Wood gave brief details of the history of the museum.
The museum was then opened for its 11th season, and Clive Wood, the new President, cut the ribbon, before the invited guests took a preview of the new exhibition. The 90 men killed in 1916 are commemorted this year, and in the 'trench' is an interpretaion of a field hospital. In the main exhibition area artefacts kindly loaned by 'friends of the museum' are on sidplay, and toys from the 1916 era have been loaned by Osborne's Sports & Toys. A shop display of an ironmongers, a Home Front display, and information about Church Street can also be seen.
