Rushden Urban District Council (Extract)
Free Library Committee

It was unanimously resolved that Mr J Claridge be appointed Chairman of this Committee.

MAGAZINES
The Management Committee were requested to provide indicators and covers and to arrange for a certain number of magazines to be placed in the reference library.
The Management Committee was also instructed to arrange for an early sale of the magazines and such of the papers as they might consider saleable after use in the library.

GIFT
The Clerk reported the reciept of a cheque for £2 from Mr W Lewin for the purchase of books, and was requested to convey the thanks of the Committee to Mr Lewin for his gift.

BETTING NEWS
It was resolved that the subject of blotting out betting news be placed on the agenda for the next meeting of the Committee.
