Ladies' Circle

Ladies whose husbands belonged to the Round Table started their own club,
for Tablers' wives aged 18-45, called the Ladies' Circle.
When these ladies reached 45 they graduated into another group called the Tangent Club,
and the men started the 41 club for ex-tablers. All four clubs are closely associated.

The Rushden Ladies' Circle was started in 1954, as Club No. 170.

"50th Charter Anniversary Dinner"

As you may be aware this year marks the 50th anniversary of the award of the Charter for Rushden Ladies Circle and in recognition of this special landmark we are holding a celebration dinner on the 22nd October 2004 to which you are cordially invited.

Our speaker for the evening will be Judy Theobald who is a well known poet and has recently addressed the Ladies Circle, Eastern Regional Lunch where she gave an interesting and amusing talk.

On behalf of myself and the members of Rushden Ladies Circle, I hope that you will be able to attend the dinner and enclose an official invitation which gives further details and would ask that you confirm your booking by 27th August 2004. Unfortunately, we are limited to the number of places available and I would suggest that an early confirmation would be advisable. When booking, could you please enclose a cheque for £25.00 made payable to Rushden Ladies Circle and let me know of any special dietary requirements.

I look forward to hearing from you in early course and remain

Yours in friendship

Karen Nelson Chairman
