Rushden Echo, 20th July 1923, transcribed by Kay Collins
Indoor “Garden” Party

Yesterday afternoon, the weather being unfavourable for a garden party arranged to have been held in the grounds of “Rosemount,” by the kind invitation of Mr. J. Knight, in aid of the exterior renovation fund of the High-street Independent Wesleyan Church, members of the church and friends assembled in the Queen-street schools for tea, followed by games. A good sum was raised, considering the spoiling of the original plans. The refreshments stall was very productive. A ladies’ committee and the young people had made the arrangements.
