3rd Rushden Alfred Street Guides

This unit was opened by Mrs Winters in 1941. It was doing well as was wintenessed by the notes from the Commissioner's log book. It is not clear why it closed in 1944.

The first members of company enrolled at a Parents Evening held in Scout headquarters. 15 Guides enrolled. This is the first 'Open' company in Rushden. Good evening.
11.12.41
Visited Company at Alfred St School to see Miss Toms, Lieutenant, take meeting. Very well arranged programme, some very original ideas introduced.
3 Guides enrolled. Talked to Guides on becoming Second Class. Taught singing game.
13.5.42
Visited Company meeting: enrolled six guides - Jolly evening. Scouts attended and took part in various competitions.
21.5.43
Visited Company, enrolled Guides. Acting Lieutenant to take warrant test in near future. Good Co. leader.

Most enjoyable. Country Dance Party proceeds for G.I.S. Fund.

3rd Rushden Girl Guides – Babes in the Wood - 1946
This comes with all the names in order and the character each played.

3rd Rushden were attached to Alfred Street School, and they did “Babes in the Wood” at the Co-op Hall on 1st January 1946, with proceeds to the International Guides Fund.
