In the bowler hat is George Cave, half-brother of John Cave the shoemaker.
George married Eliza Lewis, daughter of William, of Wymington.
Their son John is the grandfather of Tony Carter who kindly sent in this picture.
In the shoe company’s Centenary booklet George is back row third from left.
