Trade Union Club - Concerts

Trade Union Club — The last concert of the season was given on Sunday evening being for the benefit of Mr. John Keys, the club vocalist. There was a large attendance.

Programme : - Overture, Mr. Derbyshire; song, "Home again", Mr. Beeson; song, "Boys of the old brigade", Mr. J. Keys; song, "Sentenced to death", Mr. Clarke; recitation, "Called back", Mr. Hastings; song, "Shipmates", Mr. Bland; recitation, "The stowaway", Mr. Briggs; song "Warrior bold", Mr. Keys; song, "Genevieve", Mr. Briggs, song, "Roses under the snow", Mr, Rice; song, "Goodwin sands", Mr. Randall; song. "White squall", Mr. Keys (encore, "Death of Nelson"); recitation, "Genteel coats", Mr. Briggs; song, "Take this message", Mr. Beeson.

Mr. Samuel Morris presided, Mr. J. Green being in the vice-chair.

Club ConcertsOn Saturday and Sunday concerts were held at the Trades Club, when Miss Ruby Grey (London), Mr. Harry Woodhams, and Mr Jack Keys (Rushden) were specially engaged. The following also contributed to the programme:- Miss Alice Oldham, Mr. York, Mr. Fred Dix (Northampton), Mr. Randall (Rushden), and Mr. Sam Tilley. On Saturday evening the chair was occupied by the president Mr. F. Copson; Mr. Wm. Rowthorne was in the vice-chair. On Sunday evening Mr. Chas. Clayton was the chairman and Mr. T. Field the vice-chairman. Mr. Arthur Stilton was the pianist. All the items were well rendered and very heartily appreciated by the large audience.
