Not Practised an Hour
Quartette Party’s Success at Kettering Eisteddfod

Messrs. W. Hardwick, W. Smith, A. E. Smith and A. Osborne

A photograph of the Rushden Cecilia Quartette Party, Messrs. W. Hardwick, W. Smith, A. E. Smith and A. Osborne, who took first prize at the Kettering and District Sunday School Union Eisteddfod last week. The judges said the quartette were a delightful four, gaining 87 marks out of a possible 100. When they took part in the competition they had not practised and hour together.

Choir chairman changes job

Chairman and secretary of the St. Cecilia Singers, Mr. Edward H. Durham, 68 Park Avenue, Rushden, is leaving Wellingborough Employment Exchange, where he is the disablement resettlement officer, to take up a similar position at Leicester.

Mr. Durham will not, however, be leaving Rushden, and is able to continue his work for music in the town.
