The Story of our Pantomime
Our tale is set in days long ago when Richard the Lionheart ruled over England's green and pleasant land, and our hero, Robin Hoodin love with Maid Marion roamed the Forest of Sherwood with his band of Merrie Men, robbing the rich and helping the poor and needy.
Baron de Broke is guardian to the Babes, Laurence and Caroline, heirs to great wealth and, as usual, is in dire straits, he cannot pay the rent ; this gives his Landlord, Sir Jaspar de Gaspard, the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham, an idea. He suggests to the Baron that the Babes shall be kidnapped, in order that the Baron can steal their fortune. The Baron reluctantly agrees, and with the aid of two ruthless Robbers Tish and Tosh, the plans are laid. Thanks to the timely intervention of the Nurse and her Dog the Babes are saved ; however, when they all go to Nottingham Fair the Robbers evil scheme succeeds.
After many adventures Robin Hood and his friends rescue the Babes, the Wicked Sheriff and his Henchmen are punished, and all our friends are present at the celebration to mark the wedding of Maid Marion and Robin Hood.
