Story
|
As in previous productions the R.A.T.S. always endeavour to give you real pantomime, and to keep to the traditional stories, and Mother Goose is no exception.
Our story opens in Goosey Village with our Mother Goose as usual in financial difficulties, and being pursued by the Squire, but Priscilla (the goose) comes to the rescue by the production of golden eggs.
Vanity on the part of the very female Mother Goose urged on by the Demon Cursemall, who persuades her to exchange the goose for personal beauty with disastrous effects. However the Good Fairy uses her charm and magic powers to return the goose, and this, with the inevitable love tangles between boy and girl, all ending happily brings peace and Goodwill at the finale.
We hope the show will amuse, and bring you enjoyment which is our sole endeavour.

Once again we welcome Verne Morgan as our producer, the writer of our pantomime. Apart from being a well known producer, author and composer he has appeared in West End successes, and more recently taken part in many television shows including The Benny Hill Show, Honey Lane, Z-Cars and in the immediate future in A Touch of Venus with Irene Worth. Unfortunately Verne has been ill, and is producing for us under strain and physical pain. We are also most fortunate in retaining the services of our Musical Director Oswald Lawrence, and Assistant Musical Director Joan Hart who has trained the chorus. The dancers have been trained by Miss Farzaneh Fakhrai of the Kilburn School of Dancing and we are delighted to have her as a member of our production team. We have a very happy production, with all members working hard to make it a first class show, which I am sure you will enjoy.
Welcome to you all, and thank you for supporting us. We hope you are already making a note in your diary for our 1970 production.
A.E.G.
