Chairman's Message |
Welcome to you all for the 49th R.A.T.S. Pantomime and my 1st as Chairman. The society has been bringing traditional panto and Summer Shows to the town since 1963 starting in the Ritz Cinema (now Flutters Bingo) in College Street. Since 1995 we have performed here at the Pemberton Centre and we will now be here for the foreseeable future. As many of you know due to cutbacks in the council budgets both Locally and Nationally the proposed manor Park Development will now not happen. Please enjoy the show and tell you friends about us.
The story follows the life of the dysfunctional Hardup family, whose youngest sister is transformed from a servant girl to everyone, to one of Princess. Watch her journey from rags to riches as she is challenged by her Fairy Godmother to meet the man of her dreams.
I would like to thank Carole Murton, Jonathan Ellson, Nicky Pateman our Artistic production team, the backstage crew, the front of house crew and the Committee for all their hard work to put on this production.

Director's Message |
Oh I’m so pleased to be back producing this wonderful family known as the RATS, I have to say I was overjoyed to hear it would be Cinderella as I have never directed this panto and it is one of my favourites.
I have had great fun at rehearsals with the principals and my special chorus who have worked really hard to get to a really high standard this year. My special thanks to Nicky Pateman for her talent as choreographer; we work so well together it’s been a delight. Lastly to Jonathan Ellson our musical director who has brought his expertise to the singing in the show. My thanks to everyone backstage, sound and lighting, front of house and our prompt Grace. It’s not easy staging a large production but everyone in this wonderful family has done their bit.
Now sit back and enjoy the show.

The Rushden Amateur Theatrical Society |
Since 1963 the R.A.T.S. have presented the most if not all popular pantomimes together with plays including ‘not now Darling’, ‘No Sex PleaseWe’re British’ and ‘Allo ‘Allo. Our own version of a TV talent show proved popular. There have also been productions by our youth group ‘The New Experience’.
Our youth group ‘New experience’ meets every week during school term. If you are interested in the stage and are between 11 & 16 years of age, then please contact Grace Berrill on 01933 315165 for further information.
Our aim is to keep live theatre in Rushden. If you are interested in any aspect of the theatre, be on stage or using your talents in the many skills required back stage. We would be pleased to welcome you please contact the secretary, Gillian Tidbury on 07976600482.
