ALI BABA |
Baghdad was being plundered by a robber band led by the rascally Alou Hassam. Even the Caliph was not safe from the attacks; he had lost his favourite daughter and everyone thought she was dead.
Ali Baba, our hero, was a hirer of camels and donkeys. He lived with his late brother’s wife, who was always reminding him how good and brave his brother had been before he was killed by the robbers.
He had two slaves, Morgiana and Abdulla, and it was with their help that he found the robbers’ hide-out and the riches stored there.
A slave was lost, a princess found.
In true pantomime tradition, the villains are vanquished and Ali Baba marries his princess.

One again we would like to thank all of you for your help and support in our 1974 pantomime. We have with us again, as Producer, John Henderson, and we are delighted that he agreed to carry on after coming back in an emergency last year. We shall always be grateful to John for his help and friendship, and hope to see him again in 1975. We are also pleased to have Mrs. Joan Hart as our Music Director, and would say a special word of thanks to Mrs. Pauline Longland for all her help at rehearsals. Welcome back, also, to Miss Farzaneh Fakhrai, of the Kilburn School of Dancing, as our Ballet Mistress. |
