ABRACADABRA!
with this word the rocks closed on our hero. Gone was the world that he knew, shut off by the massive mountain. He entered a dream world; a world of vast treasure, of diamonds, rubies and pearls; a world of fairies, spirits and genies. It was with the help of the spirit of a ring, given him by his wicked uncle Abanazer, that he gained his freedom. A genie, who had been trapped in a lamp he had found in this dark cavern, helped him give Abanazer his just desserts. His mother, Widow Twankey, who thought him a waster, he changed from a poor old washer woman into the richest lady in the land. He helped his friend Wishee Washee to find the girl he loved. He himself married the Princess Balroubadour and gave his country their most well-loved prince ALADDIN.

Yet another "Panto" Time rolls around and time again to say Hello and welcome to new and old friends. In particular we welcome John Henderson, our producer, who is not only just that but he is a very good friend to the RATS also. John has appeared in and produced some very fine shows since our "Robinson Crusoe" last year. In fact he was here in Rushden only as long ago as April producing "South Pacific" for the Operatic Society. We are most grateful to him for his extra work with our dancers this year when a few weeks ago, Peter Height who was to be our choreographer, was unable to continue.
Oswald Lawrence and Joan Hart, our musical director and chorus mistress respectively, are two very revered friends and workers towards our successful shows, are also deserving of our thanks. In passing may we say to Beryl Rowe Thank You also for assisting with ouir dance routines. In fact let us say to all who have given co-operation, time and effort to make this production possible, a great big THANK YOU.
Hoping you will enjoy the show and see us again in 1972.
