Production by
John Henderson, M.B.E.

The Musical adaptation of the famous play "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw, is so well known that little need be written.
It concerns an illiterate Covent Garden Flower Girl, Eliza Doolittle, who is the subject of a wager between Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering.
As a result she enters the household of Higgins, to be educated in the proper use of the English Language, and in due course to be passed as a Princess at the Embassy Ball. After much effort, Higgins wins his wager, but what has Eliza won?

John Henderson has produced many fine shows for us, and we are sure you will agree that this is another success. We thank John for his work and friendship.

Edward Wadsworth

The Society has recently suffered a sad loss in the passing of Ted Wadsworth.

He was a member from the early days of the Society and he served for many years on the Committee.  In particular he was responsible for organising the advertisements in the Programme over a long period and he often gave stalwart assistance in the Box Office.  He was in fact one of those invaluable helpers who do a tremendous amount of hard work without seeking the limelight.

It is pleasing to recall the Society was able to honour Ted Wadsworth by electing him an Honorary Life Member of the Society.
