Rushden’s Annual Feast
Showmen’s Service – Mr. Thurston’s Generosity
Rushden Feast was aptly described by Mr. Thurston as “Larger, grander, better than ever,” the number of attractions provided this week making one wonder how on earth Mr. Thurston manages to think of new and original novelties year by year. On Wednesday afternoon a service for the showmen was conducted in the feast ground by the United Churches of the town.

Those participating in the service included the Revs. P. Robson M.A. (Rector of St. Mary’s), C. J. Keeler (Independent Wesleyan), R. Heaps (Wesleyan), and Ensign Hirst (Salvation Army). This (Friday) evening Mr. Thurston is generously giving the whole of the proceeds to the funds of the Rushden Red Cross Society, and the showmen are contributing 25 per cent of their takings.
