The programme for the Carnival Parade and Fete. It was held at Spencer Park on the 10th June 1967.

The programmes included entrance if purchased in advance and cost one shilling, otherwise it was 1/6d at the gate, or 6d for children.

The Carnival Queen was Miss Annette Hemmington. Miss Jean Chadwick and Miss Linda Burt were her attendants.

1967 - "Puppets on a String" after Sandie Shaw's hit record..... extreme left, Keith Brealey, again as a clown (!!), Barbara Watts, and master of ceremonies on the 5th wheel platform was Calor yard man Jim Meager, from Cornwall.

28th June 1967 - the sign on the side of the
(I think) Standard Atlas pick-up shows the "Calor Flames v. Duck Street Wanderers,
Ladies Football Match, Spencer Park 6.00pm."

Calor Gas Ltd in the Rushden & District
Sunday Football League,
a team run by Graham Penness.

From the left ..... not sure, Margaret Peck,
the red-head half hidden is Ann Boswell (my wife), Vivienne Fox, ?, Pip Warner (daughter
of Bert, a Calor director), and Jane Wright.

One point, not sure what the girls are
wearing, as those items hanging on the
side of the pick-up were our red shorts !!
