To the Townspeople of Rushden and Visitors.

Throughout the winter months every organisation in the Town has been working to provide once again a day of real carnival spirit. The Committee and organisations trust it will be a day of pleasure that you will remember and a day of success for them so that as in previous years substantial donations may be made, on your behalf, to local charities. Even in these days of the Welfare State there is still scope for voluntary help to organisations working to assist our fellow citizens both young and old. The efforts of these organisations are limited only by lack of funds.

As Chairman of the Fete Committee 1961, I have been delighted by the enthusiasm and support of the organisations giving their help, proving once again that the people of Rushden have never been slow to give of their time and money in the cause of charity.

I know I can count on your support on June 24th.
Yours sincerely,

H. W. CATLIN, Chairman Rushden Carnival Fete Committee.
