Message from the Chairman.

After the splendid support which the people of Rushden gave to us last year, the Committee responsible felt no doubt that it was the general wish to continue the Carnival fete on an annual basis.

Your enthusiasm and generosity last year taught us that our greatest mistake was in under estimating the number of collectors we should need to receive your money. We shall be careful to put this right on June 27th and we ask you this year to give all you can to the good causes of the Town.

Let us set a standard for the future which it will be hard to beat.

Many novelties have been introduced among the entertainments, assembled for your amusement – we are giving you full value for your money with something for every member of the family – and I hope you will be able to come to the Park and enjoy Rushden’s own day in its own grounds.

A. Norman Groome.

Chamber of Trade Exhibition.

Again at Carnival Time, the Rushden and Higham Ferrers Chamber of Trade proudly present an Exhibition in the lovely Hall Grounds to which you are cordially invited. We say ‘proudly’ because our shopkeepers can boast a second to none reputation for good value, excellent service, moderate prices and ‘bang up to date’ stocks unmatched anywhere in the vicinity. To our friendly rivals in the larger neighbouring towns we say (like the immortal Annie) “Anything you can do, we can do better.”

Whether this is an idle boast or not we are happy to leave to your good judgement AFTER you have visited the Exhibition. Naturally we can only accommodate a limited number of our members, but you can look forward to seeing a comprehensive cross-section of them displaying, demonstrating and discussing Cars, Decorating Materials, Fabrics, Footwear, furniture, Gas Appliances, household Electrical Goods, Hardware, Newspapers, Sewing Machines, Radios and Television and Watches etc.

The Exhibition will be open on:-
