Highbury & Rosemount
Part of the Mission Field now with Melloway estate - next to....
Highbury & Rosemount beyond in 2019

The house was built in 1901 and was originally the home Charles Claridge, a boot manufacturer. When he retired in 1929, the house was sold and he moved to Hove.

In 1929 Cyril J Potton bought the property and was there until at least 1956.

The next occupant was Arthur Mills, and he ran the Express Dry Cleaners. Arthur also used the extensive gardens for fund raising events, and when he was president of the Temperance Band they gave a concert here to raise money for new uniforms.
