Field Notes
from the first Parish Register

These notes, dated 1730 & 1731, are entered into the first parish register, following the 1725 burials.

BH:= bondhold, CH:= copyhold, N:= north, S:= south, W:= west, E:= east,

fur:= furlong, shoot:= shooting towards, Do.= ditto.


An Acct. of ye Lanes in Rushden within which ye great Tyths are due to ye Rector.
Imprimis From Dun lane upto Bedford road, thence to ye upper end of Clares lane, thence to a lane below ye last house in ye town so to ye towns end.
From Dun Lane down to ye street, thence to ye upper end of ye town & leaving out Richards Piece & Rappits Close on ye right hand, to ye lane between Richard Mallerys orchard & his Close, thence to Mr Halls house - down water lane - to Rapports lane - except a close belonging to St. Jno. Hospital in Northampton Tyth free.
Bond Hold Closes  
A close of Mr Richards called ye Coney Gear above his homestead plus in one acre a small close of Mr Cooper shoot on Bedford road - a close of R. Ekins adjoining to ye same two closes of Jos. May above his homestead - a little close of Tho. Mallery's above his homestead of Palmers adjoining - a close of Tho. Mallery in Cleaves - a close of Robt. Stevens above Rapports land & of Jno. Deiton adjoining, a close of Jos. May in Broadwell - Spittle Closes pay five shillings per Annum at St. Thomas.
