Nearly Full - Report On Higham Ferrers and Rushden Reservoir

A rise of five inches in the reservoir level was announced by Mr. J. W. Lloyd (Surveyor) at Monday’s meeting of the Higham Ferrers and Rushden Water Board. The stock, said Mr. Lloyd, showed an increase of 38,000,000 gallons compared with twelve months ago being 19 inches below overflow.  November rainfall was 2.75 inches at Sywell and 3.14 at Rushden making the totals for the 11 months of 1941 24.9 and 30.31 respectively.

Bulk sales were: Irchester 1,899,000 gals. (including 133,000 to Podington), Wymington 186,000; Mears Ashby Hall 12,000; Wollaston 843,000; Great Doddington 125,000; making a total of 3,065,000 gallons compared with 2,768,000 gallons last year. Rushden and Higham Ferrers consumed 12,097,000 gallons (compared with 12,439,000 last year), a daily average of 403,233 gallons.
