Births and Deaths—At Mr. G. R. Turner’s office at Rushden, 174 births were registered during the quarter ending on December 31, and 61 deaths during the same period. One hundred and four of the births were at Rushden. The district covered by the returns includes Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Wymington, Podington, and Irchester. Deaths under one year numbered 15, sixty years and under, 33; over 60, 13. There were four deaths from fever (3 at Rushden), one death from diphtheria at Higham, and one each from measles and diarrhoea. During the quarter there were three inquests.

Vital Statistics for Rushden and District
The returns of births and deaths registered in the Rushden, Higham Ferrers, and Irthlingborough district of the Wellingborough Union, by Mr. G. R. Turner, district registrar, show that during the quarter ending September 30th, 174 births were registered. Of these 85 were males and 99 females. The deaths registered during the same period numbered 45 — 28 males and 17 females. Fifteen died under the age of one year, 19 over one year and under 60 years, and 11 over 60 years of age. There were three inquests, but no deaths from any zymotic disease were registered during the quarter.
