a busy High Street 1955
Though the shoe trade is the key to its prosperity, Rushden is a shopping town of importance. Many Bedfordshire and Huntingdonshire towns and villages look on Rushden as their shopping centre, and at weekends countryfolk who have travelled in to make their purchases crowd the care parks with their vehicles.
