Copy of Admission of John SMITH on the surrender of Henry BOSS

17th Dec 1802 - at the Manor Court of Rushden - before John HODSON Deputy Steward
to Edward BOUVERIE Esquire, Steward of the said Manor

To this Court came Henry BOSS of Wellingborough in the said county of Northampton Gentleman one of the customary tenants of the said Manor and did in full and open Court surrender by the rod into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the hands and acceptance of the said Deputy Steward according to the custom thereof All that messuage tenement or dwelling house situate standing and being in Rushden aforesaid near to the North side of the Church late in the tenure or occupation of Peter COOPER and now of William MOORE Together with the entry or passage barn yard garden orchard and homestead and all other the rights members privileges and appurtenances to the same premises belonging or in any wise appertaining And also all that other messuage tenement or dwelling house situate standing and being in Rushden aforesaid near to the North side of the Church late in the tenure or occupation of Peter SANDERS and now of the said Peter COOPER To which said first mentioned messuage tenement or dwelling house and premises the said Henry BOSS was admitted tenant at a court held in and for the said Manor on the first day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and to which said last mentioned messuage tenement or dwelling house and premises the said Henry BOSS was admitted tenant at a Court held in and for the said Manor on the 13th day of June one thousand eight hundred on the surrender of the said Peter COOPER Together with all and singular houses outhouses edifices buildings barns stables yards orchards gardens backsides hedges ditches walls mounds fences trees wood underwood ways paths passages waters watercourses profits privileges advantages emoluments rights members hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said messuages tenements or dwelling houses and premises belonging or in any wise appertaining And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits thereof And all the estate right title interest use trust possession inheritance benefit property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Henry BOSS out of in or to the same hereditaments and premises To the use and behoof of John SMITH of Puddington in the county of Bedford farmer his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the said Manor Now to this Court came the said John SMITH in his own proper person and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be admitted tenant to the said messuages tenements or dwelling houses and premises with the appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his aforesaid Deputy Steward hath granted seisin thereof by the rod To have and to hold the said messuages tenements or dwelling houses and premises aforesaid with the appurtenances unto the said John SMITH his heirs and assigns for ever at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by fealty suit of Court fines rents and other customs and services anciently due and of right accustomed and for such his Admission he hath given unto the Lord for a fine as appears in the margin And so saving always the right of the Lord and of all persons whomsoever the said John SMITH was admitted tenant in manner aforesaid but his fealty was respited because &c
