The Manor of Rushden with the members in the County of Northampton to wit: The View of Frankpledge with the Court Leet and Court Baron of our most gracious Sovereign Lord King George the third Lord of the said Manor held at Rushden in and for the said Manor on the thirteenth day of June in the fortieth year of his reign and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred before John HIGGINS Esquire Deputy Steward to the Honourable Edward BOUVERIE Steward of the said Manor

Richard STEVENS - At this Court it was found and presented by the Homage that Richard STEVENS late of Hallaughton in the County of Leicester plumber and glazier deceased late a Customary Tenant of the said Manor who whilst he lived held to him and to his Heirs of the Lord of the said Manor by Fealty Suit of Court and the yearly Rent of three pounds sixteen shillings and six pence All that Messuage Tenement or Farmhouse and Homestead with the Close of Pasture and Appurtenances thereunto adjoining and belonging situate and being in the North End of Rushden aforesaid And also All that one Close of Pasture Ground lying and being in the North end of Rushden aforesaid late Mary MASON North and late Richard WARD on the South And also one other close lying in the North End of Rushden aforesaid late John GOBBY South And also the Scite or Ground whereon a Messuage or Tenement formerly stood and Close of Pasture adjoining to the same in Rushden aforesaid late John DENTON North and late Thomas MALLERY on the South and Also All that Pightle little Close or Orchard adjoining to and formerly belonging to the Dwellinghouse of Thomas WARD in Rushden aforesaid and purchased of him by the said Richard STEVENS And also All that ancient Inclosure in the Town of Rushden aforesaid bounded on the South by an old Inclosure lately belonging to Samuel MEE upon the late Division and Inclosure of the common and open Fields Meadows and commonable Lands in the Parish of Rushden aforesaid exchanged with the said Richard STEVENS and on the North by an old Inclosure now or late belonging to John WRIGHT containing two roods and fourteen perches late the Property of Benjamin KIDNEY Esquire and by the Award of the Commissioners made and executed upon the said Division and Inclosure assigned awarded and appointed unto the said Richard STEVENS in lieu of and in exchange for the third Copyhold Allotment awarded to the said Richard STEVENS containing three roods and six perches which the said Commissioners did assign award and appoint unto the said Benjamin KIDNEY for such Exchange as aforesaid And also All that Close of ancient Inclosure adjoining to the Farm Homestead of the said Richard STEVENS bounded on the South and North by the said last described ancient Inclosure containing two roods and twenty eight perches late the Property of the said Samuel MEE and by the said Award assigned awarded and appointed unto the said Richard STEVENS in lieu of and in exchange for the fourth Copyhold Allotment awarded to the said Richard STEVENS containing three roods and twenty six perches which the said Commissioners did assign and appoint unto the said Samuel MEE for such exchange as aforesaid And Also All that plot of Copyhold Land or Ground lying in a certain Field in the parish of Rushden aforesaid now before or at the time of the said Division and Inclosure called Black Fen Field containing one acre as the same was then admeasured and set out and bounded as in the said Award is mentioned Which said Plot of Land or Ground was by the said Award set out allotted and awarded to Margaret MALLERY and was with the consent of the said Margaret MALLERY assigned awarded and appointed unto the said Richard STEVENS in lieu of and in exchange for a Close of ancient Inclosure called Broadwell Close containing one acre and eight perches the Property of the said Richard STEVENS which the said Commissioners did assign award and appoint unto the said Margaret MALLERY for such exchange as aforesaid And also All that plot of Bondhold Land or Ground lying in Black Fen Field aforesaid containing fifty acres as the same was upon the said Division and Inclosure admeasured and set out and bounded as in the said Award is mentioned And also All that plot of Copyhold Land or Ground lying in Black Fen Field aforesaid containing twenty nine acres three roods and eight perches as the same was upon the said Division and Inclosure admeasured and set out and bounded as in the said Award is mentioned And also All that other plot of Copyhold Land or Ground lying in certain places in the Parish of Rushden aforesaid Now before or at the time of the said Division and Inclosure called the Meadow and Brook Field containing twenty five acres one rood and twenty eight perches as the same was then admeasured and set out and bounded as in the said Award is also mentioned All which said premises are now in the possession tenure or occupation of Richard STEVENS the eldest son and Heir at Law of the said Richard STEVENS deceased Died sometime since seized thereof And it was found and presented by the Homage that the said Richard STEVENS the Father before his death duly surrendered the same to the use of his Will And by his last Will and Testament in Writing by him duly executed and attested bearing date on or about the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven he gave and devised unto his Son the said Richard STEVENS All his Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with the Appurtenances situate lying and being in Rushden aforesaid To hold the same unto his said Son Richard STEVENS his Heirs and Assigns forever Subject nevertheless and chargeable as therein is mentioned NOW TO THIS COURT came the said Richard STEVENS the son in his own proper person and humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be admitted Tenant to the said Messuage Tenement or Farmhouse and Homestead Closes Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances To whom the Lord of the said Manor by his aforesaid Deputy Steward hath granted Seizin thereof by the rod To have and to hold the said Messuage Tenement or Farmhouse and Homestead Closes Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Richard STEVENS the Son his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the purport and effect of the said recited Will at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of the said Manor by Fealty Suit of Court Fines Rents and other Customs and Services anciently due and of right accustomed and for such His Admission he hath given unto the Lord for a Fine as appears in the Margin and so saving always the right of the Lord and of all Persons whomsoever the said Richard STEVENS the son was admitted Tenant in manner aforesaid but his fealty was respited because &c
