Hotel Cannot Have Petrol Station

AN outline application for a petrol filling station at the Queen Victoria Hotel, High-street, Rushden, for Phipps Northampton Brewery Ltd., has been refused it was reported at a meeting of Rushden Urban Council last night.

The planning committee reported that, refusal was decided on the recommendation of the planning officer. The reasons were likely interference with trunk road traffic and road users needs were met adequately.

No objection was raised to an outline plan for a petrol filling station near Wymington-road from Rushden Co-operative Society.

Residents in Avenue-road, it was reported, had complained about unsatisfactory conditions resulting from the use of land at 180 Avenue-road.
