Higham Park Farm was run with horse power until 1927. The last working horse, called 'Rocket,' died that year and the farm then became fully mechanised.
The horse's feet were removed and kept as a memento of that faithfull servant. The shoes had been fixed to the hooves by William George Holt.
Bill Holt, son of William George, took over the farm from his father and ran it until he retired in 1969.
The note was written in 1997 by Bill when he gave the feet to his son Nick.
