A Nasty Accident occurred at the corner of Hayway last week to an Irchester young lady named Miss Isabel Richardson, who was knocked down by a motor car driven by Mr. J. W. Heath, a representative of Messrs. Foster Bros., millers, of Cambridge.  The accident occurred at about 8.30 p.m., and we understand that no blame can be attached to the driver of the car, who was driving with bedimmed lights in accordance with the regulations, and who did everything in his power for the unfortunate victim of the accident.  The girl’s skirt was evidently caught in the wheel, as it was badly torn, and it was found, when she was picked up, that besides being badly bruised and shaken she had sustained severe facial abrasions.  Mr. Heath put her in his car and drove with all possible speed to the auxiliary hospital at Higham Ferrers, where the injured girl received immediate attention from Nurse Greenwood.  Mr. Heath then drove to Rushden in his car and fetched Dr. Greenfield, who was delivering a lecture at the Ambulance headquarters.  An examination revealed that no bones were broken, although Miss Richardson was suffering severely from shock and was badly cut and bruised.  Subsequently the girl was conveyed to the Cottage Hospital at Rushden, where she made satisfactory progress, receiving her discharge from that institution on Wednesday.
