Both wrists fractured – Ernest Pearson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Pearson, of 10, Windmill Road, and another youth named Tandy, were fishing in the waters near Ditchford, on Saturday and finding the sport rather slow, both climbed into a tree by the riverside. Pearson had got a good height when a bough snapped and let him down. He fell with all his weight on both hands and suffered a fracture of both wrists. Although in great agony he walked home, as no assistance could be procured near the scene. A doctor was called in and the broken bones were set. The lad is making as much progress as can be expected considering the pain and his helplessness. Had he fallen into the river Pearson would probably not have been hurt as he is a good swimmer.
