An accident occurred near the Victoria Hotel on Sunday evening to Mr. T. Myers, of Beaconsfield-place. It appears that Mr. Myers, who is 76 years of age, owing to his walking stick slipping, fell heavily to the ground, and it is feared dislocated his right hip. He was picked up by Inspector Osborne and conveyed to his home by two of the Rushden constables. Subsequently he was attended by Dr. Crew, and on Wednesday morning owing to his leg and hip having become considerably swollen, the doctor advised his removal to the County Hospital. He was conveyed thither by 1st class Sergt. Prigmore (Rushden St. John Ambulance Association), who was assisted by Mr. G. Spriggs, Mr. Myers’s son-in-law. |
