Lifeboat Appeal

The Lifeboat, which is being taken to the various towns and villages in the county to support an appeal for £10,000 to provide an up-to-date motor lifeboat to be called the “Northamptonshire” passed through Higham Ferrers on Tuesday. Being hauled on to the Market Square, it attracted considerable notice. Collections were made towards the appeal.

The Lifeboat flag-day in Rushden realised £46 14s. 2d. The scholars in all the Rushden Council schools have written accounts of the Rushden Lifeboat Day celebrations. Eight prizes, two for each school, have been given by members of the committee for the best reports, and the teachers will adjudicate, the awards to be made at the meeting in the Royal Theatre on Sunday evening.
