Having developed a specialism in diseases of the chest, he was for a time in charge of a T.B. Hospital in Palestine. He was also member of the medical team who went into the concentration camp at Belsen in April 1945.

He was appointed to the staff of Rushden House Sanatorium in November 1946, as Deputy Medical Superintendent and Assistant Tuberculosis Officer for Northamptonshire County Council. He was promoted to Senior Hospital Medical Officer in Diseases of the Chest in July 1948. Dr. Greig and his family lived in Wymington Road until his sudden death in April 1952.

Dr. Lord, Medical Superintendent at Rushden House described him as “a particularly pleasant colleague, quiet and humorous”.
