Thomas Smith - will 1780

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Smith the Elder of Rushden in the County of Northampton Gentleman First I give and Devise all those my three Closes of Pasture or inclosed Ground situate lying and being within the Parish and Precincts of Wymington in the County of Bedford commonly called or known by the name of Black meer Closes unto my son Thomas Smith and his Heirs and Assigns for Ever And also I give and Devise all and every my Copyhold and Bondhold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditatments with their and every of their Rights Members and Appurtenances Situate lying and being within the Parish fields Bounds Precincts and Liberties of Rushden aforesaid unto my said son Thomas Smith and his Heirs and Assigns for Ever I give and bequeath to my son William Smith the sum of Four Hundred Pounds of lawful Money of great Britain I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Achurch the Sum of Five Pounds and no more having heretofore provided for her at her Marriage I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Smith the sum of Three Hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain I Give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas Smith Two Beds with the Bedding and Furniture thereto belonging commonly used by my Servants All my Brewing Vessels Coppers Milk Vessels Eight Barrells Six pair of Sheets and my Engraved Silver Tankard I give and bequeath all the rest of my Houshold Goods and Houshold Furniture unto my Dear Wife Ann Smith and my said Daughter Elizabeth Smith to be equally Divided between them Share and Share alike I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate (not herein before by me otherwise Given and disposed of) unto my said son Thomas Smith My Will and Mind is that the Legacies above by me given and bequeathed to my son William Smith and my Daughters Mary Achurch and Elizabeth Smith shall be Paid to them Twelve Months after my Decease and in Case my said son William Smith shall depart this Life before his said Legacy shall become due and payable then and in such Case I give and bequeath to my said Daughters Mary Achurch and Elizabeth Smith the sum of One Hundred Pounds a piece over and above the Legacies herein above by me given and bequeathed to them And Lastly ... … … [*damaged here] all and every the Estates above by me Devised and bequeathed to my said son Thomas Smith with the Payment of all and every the above Legacies at the Time herein above by me Limitted and Appointed for the Payment thereof I Nominate and Appoint my said son Thomas Smith Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Nineteenth day of December In the Year of Our Lord One Thousand and Seven Hundred and Seventy
